This directory only contains our members who are participating in the nine day Open Studio event in September. Each artist can include more information and images than we can squeeze into the paper brochure.

Artists are opening their home studios, independent studios or specially chosen locations to show you their work and how it’s made.

Perth & Kinross is a huge area so we’ve broken down the area into manageable routes.

Alba Bella Gallery is not just a gallery, it is a place of creativity. It is an artist led gallery, workshop, and teaching venue where skills are shared and taught. Clodagh and Tracy be running demos and mini workshops in pottery, sculpture and porcelain jewellery making

Alder Gallery at Mary Arnold-Forster Architects

We are an architecture studio working throughout Scotland and the UK. Our office in Dunkeld is also home to Alder Magazine and Alder Gallery which showcases artists and makers who share our interest in landscape and materiality. This September we will be exhibiting work from multidisciplinary artist Kim Canale.

Alison Bowman

This year I have enjoyed using oils, painting mainly en plein air in the likes of Colonsay, Glen Affric and of course, Perth and Perthshire. I have also been experimenting with mixed media, pastels and monoprints. There will be a range of original framed paintings, mounted prints and cards, and a sales room of older stock.

Andy Laycock

The landscape’s changing light, hues and shades have fascinated me since I was young. I strive for my paintings to come alive through focussing on changing light and shadows. Using a mixed medium from oil, acrylic & pastels. I work in layers exploring variations of colour and texture.

Angela @ Artisanand

Artisanand was established in 2014, having the gallery allows me to exhibit my art along with the art of other emerging and established Perthshire artists. We offer an eclectic and quirky selection of artwork in many media, including lots of 3D, in a light and bright gallery space, the front of which is entirely glass, the artwork is the focus and there is room to stand back and enjoy.

In September, as part of the Open Studios Festival, there will be a mixed exhibition featuring many of our gallery favourites. There may be a few popping in to say hello and possibly doing a demo or two, check out the website for details nearer the time.

During Open Studios I’ll be working on a number of new projects, 3d sculptural wall art in Harris Tweed, upcycled and re-upholstered furniture, lamp bases and lampshades, decoupaged scallops, felt jewellery and sculptures. I love trying new techniques and testing my skills with new challenges. Come along and see what I'm working on and perhaps have a go?

Angus Clyne – Woodturning and Photography

Angus Ross

ANGUS ROSS furniture is a design studio and wood-working workshop based in Aberfeldy. Angus is a designer/maker/woodsman working with a team of three exceptional makers. They specialise in steam bending local oak and ash, to create stunning furniture for homes, gardens and public places.

My artwork focuses on shapes colour and composition in still lives. Painting in oils , oil sticks and wax.

Anne Russell

I am an Orcadian Artist/Printmaker working in a variety of printmaking techniques from etching, relief and one-off monoprints – all individually hand inked and printed as limited editions. Also on show, from my studio garden are mixed media drawings along with a selection of greetings cards, all inspired by the beautiful landscapes and coastal areas around Scotland.

ArtCraft Together

We are various artists/makers, exhibiting under the name of ‘ArtCraft Together’. If you come and visit us in the beautiful, light-filled upstairs room of the lovely Tickled Trout Cafe in Almondbank, you will find wildlife and landscape photographic images on mounted and framed prints, cards and coasters; crocheted baskets and other items made from recycled materials; artisanal fused and traditional glass work; hand wrought contemporary silver jewellery in both fine and sterling silver; fine art watercolour paintings and drawings in originals and prints, beautiful leather work, and expertly turned wooden bowls, and other items, made using native woods.

Barkley Glass

Jane Drysdale creates kiln formed glass in her garden studio. Using bullseye glass powders, frit and sheet glass she creates individual pieces which can be functional or purely decorative. Her work is influenced by the world around her and a desire to explore the boundless possibilities of glass.

Lorna has worked in stained glass for 30 years making traditional and contemporary windows, sculpture, hangings, jewellery and paints in mixed media. Christine Macintyre

I am a Textile Artist fascinated by the layering of our landscape and the juxtaposition of colour and texture in rock, heather and water using hand dyed semi-translucent fabrics enables me to give an impression of what I see and simple stitching gives definition and texture.

David Mackenzie

I’m a self-taught artist. My experience as a Deputy Head Keeper at Edinburgh Zoo, especially with the big cats, has enriched me with stories and emotional connections that I strive to express in my paintings. I apply acrylic paint in a watercolour style, layering it to achieve the desired tone.

Diana King Jewellery @ The Bield

Diana is a jeweller who specialises in Silver and resin contemporary. Diana will have a makeshift workshop set up at the Bield with display and demo areas where you can view and purchase her jewellery or simply come by for a chat about design and the process of making.

Edward Davidson

Edward Davidson is a Scottish landscape and wildlife artist working from his studio in Edinburgh and Perthshire highlands. His painting Puffin Rock reached the final stages in the BBC Wildlife Artist of The Year, and his painting Nine Puffins was sold to a royal family member.

Ellie Fiddes

Ellie is a fibre artist with a range of skills. She spins yarn for incorporation in projects. She uses crochet and other techniques in clothing and wall hangings. She ecoprints quality natural fabrics such as silk, cashmere, wool, linen. She continuously experiments to improve her practice.

Gallus Glass

• I am a graduate of Glasgow School Of Art , Honours Degree in Drawing and Painting 1983. I started to work in stained glass as a complement to my painting.
I specialising in original, affordable free hanging leaded glass panels in contemporary and traditionally based designs. But also work on commissions, large and small, for individual clients and undertake repair and restoration work.
I am influenced by the dominating Scottish landscapes and by the tradition of historical stained glass work, translating them into my own contemporary style.
The glass has a huge range of possibilities of colour, intensity and texture and this can often dictate the design. Stained glass is experiencing a revival in interest as people realise the value of traditional crafts. Glass panels, however small, are always a point of focus in the home or public environment and respond well to changes in light as the day and seasons progress.
Lately I have been exploring narrative pieces that represent People Places and Time.
I am lucky enough to be able to work at home and have had a spectacular bespoke studio built for me in my garden. For Perthshire Open Studios I am delighted to have been asked to join other amazing artists at the Barns.

Greenscares Pottery

I make ceramics with carved decoration and colours that reflect the views outside my studio windows. My studio is in my garage which has a nice seating area outside looking down the glen to the Ochils. Pop in for a chat and see what I do. I will be making things throughout the week.

Hazel Ritchie Art

Hello. I create colourful artwork mainly in paint and collage. I find joy in nature, pattern and the everyday world and use this as my inspiration.

I work in acrylic and mixed media. My inspiration comes primarily from the landscape. I like to express the moods and feelings of the subject in an impressionistic style.

Helen Chalmers Glass Jewellery

Helen and Chris use both Murano and Recycled Bottle Glass (especially Whisky Bottles!) in a process called Lampwork to create glass beads and pieces of jewellery in their home workshop in Pitlochry.

HooperHart @ Catriona Studio

Hello! I’m Cal and I create wooden art, wearables and accessories for the home with a contemporary Folk Art flavour. I specialise in illustrative, immersive miniature scenes in the form of boxed and framed dioramas‚ all inspired by wildlife, storytelling, and the Scottish coast and countryside.

Jonathan Mitchell

For some 35 years Jonathan Mitchell’s detailed and atmospheric paintings of Scotland and France have attracted the attention of collectors and art-lovers internationally. This year’s POS exhibition will feature previously unseen works by the artist in his studio base in picturesque Glamis village.

Karin Borland

This year I am back in my lovely studio in my burnside garden in Dalguise. I paint atmospheric landscapes filled with trees, water and an emphasis on light and pattern. Figures, wild swimmers and animals often appear in my work. There will also be small textile gift items such as notebooks and bags.

Kay Naitby Art

I’ve enjoyed drawing since I was a child, and as time has gone by I’ve found that I like most forms of creativity that use my hands, be that drawing, painting, throwing or hand building with clay. I love experimenting with new techniques and tools of the trade.

Keltneyburn Smithy Gallery

Metal Sculptures & Garden Art, made using recycled parts & scrap metal, every piece is made onsite in our traditional Smithy next to the Gallery. Our pieces large & small often portray the natural world & how we fit into it, wildlife, domestic animals, birds, abstract pieces & metal typography.

My pottery is both functional and decorative, created using a variety of techniques. Each piece is tranquil, free-flowing and simplistic in nature taking inspiration from home and my love of travel.

Kids Art Class

Creative arts and crafts classes for children and adults at a beautiful art studio in the Centre of Perth. There are kids’ classes, adult classes, family workshops, art parties, private workshops and lots more going on! A place of creativity for everyone! During POS, come and visit our wonderful studio, see a variety of amazing work by the pupils of Kids Art Class and have some fun being creative yourself, with the arts and crafts activities available to make on the day! There will be art to purchase too!

Right in the Centre of busy bustling Perth is where you’ll find the Kids Art Class studio. A spacious, bright, welcoming art space, where all ages and abilities can be creative and enjoy arts and crafts as a hobby. Originally started as after school art classes for children; we are now constantly expanding and currently run creative workshops for all ages! We have kids’ classes, adult classes, family workshops, art parties, private workshops and lots more going on! A place of creativity for everyone! At Kids Art Class no two things are often the same, so we never get bored! Each week we try our hand at new projects, experiment with different medium, enjoy learning new art skills and use lots of varied art materials and equipment. Kids Art Class is owned and established by Sara Barr, a qualified Primary School teacher with an art degree from Duncan of Jordanstone College of art. After 20 years of teaching all ages and stages of the primary school setting, Sara decided to follow her dream of becoming an art teacher and started her own business ’Kids Art Class’. During her teaching career, art was always a passion of hers and she strongly believed in its positive impact on our mental health and well-being and saw firsthand the amazing life skills it provided her pupils with. Art is certainly not just about drawing pictures!

In 2022 Kids Art Class was ‘born’! At Kids Art Class we nurture creativity and are passionate about art and the positive impact it has on us. Everyone who attends our classes come to have fun and be creative, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All pupils are encouraged in a positive way to find their own unique styles and build confidence in themselves and their abilities while enjoying arts and crafts. After each class, everyone takes home an art piece they are proud of! In the words of a wise pupil…’We are here for fun, not perfection!’

For POS we will be opening our studio to showcase some of the wonderful creative work from our pupils across Perth and Kinross. We hope to inspire and encourage you to find your creative flair and come and join us on our art journey. There will also be opportunities for you to come and try your hand at different art projects in our studio and get creative yourself! (suitable for all ages). We shall also have some fun art and crafts you can purchase too!

Liz Dulley Studio

Liz creates delicate and intriguing watercolour paintings using playful techniques, often adding found papers from travel. An award winning artist and art tutor, Liz will be working in the studio daily. Bring your questions and curiosity. Flowers, still life, paper art, Japanese, class info & cards.

LONGLEYS STUDIO, Tricia Brown

Mostly self taught apart from outdoor classes with McIntosh Patrick and long distance courses with London Art College. Most of my inspiration comes from Strathmore and the Glens: I enjoy painting semi abstracts and am a keen photographer. Also on display will be silk scarves, cards and calendars.

Louise McLaren – Studio 52

Louise creates intricate, delicate images, cut from a single sheet of paper. Each image starts off as a drawing, before being cut out, by hand, with a scalpel. Louise has started a series of papercut landscapes, capturing some of the beautiful Perthshire scenery that she has on her doorstep.

Mary’s Patch Glencarse

Marys’ Patch Glencarse, has a wide selection of patchworking fabric. We also have a varied patchwork teaching program running 4 days a week in our compact shop. A recent addition is our Q’nique 14+ long arm quilting machine, which has revolutionised our quilting and has made making larger quilts much more achievable.

We have a small range of patchworked items for sale.

We love Steampunk designs here. So we have a wide variety of Steampunk themed fabric, plus batiks, plains, patterned and as many colours as we can fit in a small space.

We stock a wide variety of different wadding’s.

We are also a busy teaching space and our small patchwork classes produce some amazing quilts on a weekly basis. Suitable for raw beginners and more experienced patchworkers, we cater for all ability levels.

Maryann Ryves

I trained at Manchester School of Art in the 80’s and worked for 10 years in design studios in London as a freelance textile designer. Painting gradually became my primary focus and oil has always been my favourite medium as it compliments the use of colour in my work.

Miriam Lloyd

Four Seasons at Fordie: Braefordie Artist in Residence

During 2024-2025, Lloyd is Artist in Residence at Braefordie, a remote off-grid bothy on Fordie estate in Perthshire. The estate is undertaking an ambitious re-wilding project and Lloyd is observing the changing landscape through the seasons. The residency will culminate in her exhibition for Perthshire Open Studios 2025.

Momentum Pottery

The pottery is only open the first three days of POS, exhibiting the work of four makers, doing demonstrations of pottery firing, throwing, and stone carving.

Raku firing demos all three days, 10am-noon and 2pm-4pm (Monday the last firing is 3pm). Come along, decorate a piece, and have it fired!

Morna Goldie Art

Morna Goldie creates original paintings and high quality giclée prints from her garden studio.
Morna's art emphasises minimalist landscapes with simplified forms and evocative, muted colour palettes, creating serene and contemplative scenes. Inspired by the tranquility of Kintyre, she continually refines her distinctive style through sketching, photography, and canvases. Her aim is to promote the unique beauty of the West Coast of Scotland, offering emotionally evocative pieces that inspire and connect. Gift cards are also available.

Olivia van Hooft Art

Working predominantly in the medium of ink on paper, Olivia focuses on the techniques of stippling and line work to create drawings inspired by pattern and nature combined with the spirit of our shared landscape and fauna.

Philippa Johnston

Philippa Johnston is a metalwork artist who draws with wire, creating pieces that sit somewhere between 2D and 3D. She also works sculpturally with recycled tin, clay and other materials. Her work reflects her love of animals and birds and her passion for folk and children’s art. She’ll be showing a range of work including pieces from her 100 Roosters Instagram project.

Rachel’s Willow Designs

I am a basketweaver and willow sculptor based at a studio in Abernethy where I also teach willow workshops. I hand weave willow baskets, animal sculptures, bird feeders and other small decorative items. I love experimenting with different colours of willow and a range of weaves to add texture and interest to my basket designs, while my sculptures attempt to capture the personality of each animal I depict. I will be demonstrating basketry and sculpting techniques. You can also see the upstairs teaching space and learn more about the weaving workshops I offer.

Raku by K

Ceramics tempered with fire and smoke, giving very unique pieces. Also works with textiles, using remnants of fabric to produce pieces ‘made to be loved’.
Visitors are welcome to try block printing and can see demonstrations of working with clay.

Rannoch Studio

Rannoch Studio is a contemporary art gallery and coffee shop nestled in the heart of Kinloch Rannoch.

Rannoch Studio is the creative home of photographer and graphic designer Ron Dekker and his wife Jane. Together they are curating a space to showcase their own work along with that of other creatives who have been inspired by this stunning area.

Rhona Kirkpatrick Art

Rhona Kirkpatrick – a mixed media artist creating paintings of shoreline, mountains and landscape. She draws inspiration from the surrounding countryside, the West Coast and mountains of Scotland. She has exhibited with the The Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour in Edinburgh and Glasgow and exhibitions throughout Perthshire and Angus.

Ritzy Glass

Rhona hand-makes and designs a large range of beautiful and colourful fused glass homeware including funky clocks, lanterns, framed pictures, tealight holders, coasters, ornaments and quirky hanging decorations! Prices start from £5.

Roos Eisma Ceramics

I create curvy ceramics out of flat slabs of clay, before enhancing the shape and sharpening edges. The shape of my sculptural vessels is partly planned and partly allowed to develop organically. They are often finished with textured surfaces.
There will be demos, bargains and cake!

I want to dig into the paint and believe in what images grow. Every exhibition surprises me by what emerges from my experiments. I hope there will be paintings for everyone to enjoy, discuss, and ask questions about. And of course purchase! Prices £5 - £500

Sammy Dent Artist

Sammy is showing large canvases as an installation to walk through and experience being immersed in the colour of her work, inspired by Richard Serra's enormous spirals, the paintings will be arranged in a cattle shed. Silk scarves will be available for sale with designs from her paintings.

I discovered the magic of clay relatively recently, but it has quickly become central to my creative practice. With a background in textiles, painting, and printmaking, I bring an intuitive, playful, and exploratory approach to working with ceramics.
I’m drawn to the unpredictable nature and wildness of clay—its ability to surprise and guide the process fascinates me. I often feel as though the clay has its own voice, and I enjoy responding to it as I work. Much of my inspiration is drawn from the natural world. Birds often find their way into my work—sometimes clearly, sometimes as a whisper of form or flight. Also, personal/life experience finds its way into creative endeavours; the wonders, stages and experience of motherhood.
I’m particularly captivated by texture, pattern, and colour—the possibilities in clay are truly endless.
My work ranges from functional stoneware, often wheel-thrown, to hand- built sculptural pieces and raku vessels. I create from my garden studio, nestled among trees and birdsong – a place where quiet magic seems always just within reach.

Sheila Garden

I work mainly in watercolour and also enjoy printing, collage and acrylic. I am inspired by the seasons and plants and these often feature in my still life paintings, landscapes and abstract art which can be viewed at my studio where I run classes in drawing and painting.

Sheila Messenger, Forerow Studio

In my oil painting series, I focus on still life compositions of flowers, vases, bottles, and jars with mirrored reflections. These ethereal works highlight the transient beauty of nature and encourage viewers to appreciate fleeting moments. By emphasizing mindfulness, I invite others to be present and savor the beauty in every moment.

Shionagh Primrose Prints

Originally a Sculptor, a discovered love of printmaking influences my current work. I use an aquatint etching process to create images, exploring tonal and linear possibilities. My themes are figurative/natural, motivated by my emotional response to my subject, often of people and pets in my life and nature in my garden/local environment.

St Fillans Arts & Crafts

Residents formed St Fillans Art Club in 2023. Our exhibition in the Sandison Hall, celebrates the wide variety of creative talent within the village and offers the opportunity to ‘have a go at arts & crafts’.

Station Cat Pottery

The Station Cat Pottery home is a repurposed 1950s Railway Carriage on our Farm in Highland Perthshire. The Carriage is split into workshop and Gallery space, and from here I spend my days redesigning discarded and disused objects into new pieces of art.
I use Clay,wire, glazes and paints along with engine parts and mechanical hardware to create my pieces.
Im also a keen student of the Cello, and love to incorporate discarded bits of musical instruments into creations. Some of my pieces also have my original poetry on them.
We have a Joyful existence here with our animals, our vintage finds, and being surrounded by the natural world is a constant source of inspiration to me.

Stewart Graham – Sunnybank Art

Painter of Scottish landscapes, both traditional oil landscape painting and modern digital illustration. Stewart paints from life & from reference images based on his travels. Subjects include mountain views, coastal scenery, forest trails and rural villages. Commissions welcome. Demos available.

Tea with Jud

Tea with Jud has relocated! Visit Jud at her new home built workshop. There will be lots of colourful pottery for sale, including seconds and experiments. Tea, Coffee and Home Baking will also be available.

The Birch Tree Studio

With busy bees beside my studio shed and a fantastic landscape of life in front of me it’s not Dull! I create functional pottery, each piece has a place and story in a collection. All my pottery is hand thrown, rolled or coiled, hand painted and glazed. Enjoy a morning coffee from a work of art!

The Perthshire Gallery

The Perthshire Gallery showcases a wide variety of contemporary art, artists and makers, demonstrating our intention to make art accessible and enjoyable for all. We have strived to create a calm and welcoming space that excites and surprises too.

The Shed Gallery

The Shed Gallery is in the peaceful surroundings of Kinloch Rannoch, a scenic drive from Pitlochry or Aberfeldy. As a landscape and fine art photographer I concentrate my work based around where I live showcasing what my part of the world can look like in the right conditions making it look other worldly.
