I am a basketweaver and willow sculptor and I would like to welcome you all to my new studio in Abernethy, where I hand weave willow baskets, animal sculptures, bird feeders and other small decorative items. I love experimenting with different colours of willow and a range of weaves to add texture and interest to my basket designs, while my sculptures attempt to capture the personality of each animal I depict. At my studio, you’ll be able to see the tools of the trade, and learn more about willow varieties and their preparation. I’ll be demonstrating basketry and sculpting techniques. It’s also a great opportunity to see the upstairs teaching space and learn more about the weaving classes I teach. While you’re here, you can look around the beautiful village of Abernethy and its surrounding countryside which inspires my designs. Please note: the bathroom and classroom are upstairs.
