The Perthshire Open Studios Festival Showcase opens on 2nd September at The Barn Gallery by Perth. “If you don’t think you will get to all 120 artists who are taking part in the Festival, then visit our Festival Showcase to help you decide who to visit“ explained Heather Budge-Reid, Chair of POS.
Artists taking part in the POS Festival will have pieces on display from the 2nd to 11th of September. This will offer visitors the opportunity to see physical examples of their work in one place. “Along with the images on the website and in the Festival brochure, visitors will be able to choose which artists they are interested in meeting during the Open Studios Festival, which runs from 6th to 11th September” said Heather Budge-Reid
During and since Covid there has been a noticeable increase in the art bought through online sources. “While we’re all pleased to have art being bought through any channel, there is nothing as uplifting as wandering through a gallery, where there are amazing pieces in media you may not have seen before” said Angela Thomson, the Showcase Organiser. “By going on to visit open studios, visitors will gain a unique chance to chat with artists about their inspiration and techniques.”
