Festival Showcase

Each year we recommend all artists participating in the Open Studio Festival also participate in the exhibition we hold to support the open studio event. This year the exhibition will be open from Saturday 24 August to Sunday 8 September, from 10am until 5pm.

The exhibition is held each year at The Barn Gallery, The Bield. The Barn Gallery is set in magnificent grounds which are usually open for visitors to enjoy when visiting the exhibition. Worthy of a special mention is the walled garden, where as long as there isn’t a workshop or private event being held, visitors can enjoy the opportunity to wander around. 

The showcase offers visitors the chance to see examples of artists work and either decide who they want to visit or amend their predetermined list. Last year there were a good two thirds of the artists who had work at the Bield. It is an uplifting gallery to visit and is always beautifully curated by George Bosworth of the Barn Gallery.

The exhibition is manned by artists, including a number of artists in residence at the Barn Gallery. This means you can discuss with them their work and process to achieving the final piece.
