Originally a Sculptor, a discovered love of printmaking influences my current work. An aquatint etching process explores tonal and linear possibilities. My work is figurative/nature based, motivated by my emotional response to people and pets in my life and nature in my garden/local environment.

I am an Artist based in rural Perthshire with a background in Sculpture. I enjoy working with figurative/natural subject matter. I taught Art and Design for 34 years which broadened my knowledge, experience of and abilities in a wide range of media, techniques and approaches to being creative.
After participating in a safer Etching course at Dunfermline Printmakers2 years ago, I discovered a love of printmaking, this has influenced my current work. This method of printmaking uses less toxic processes and materials. I mainly use an aquatint etching process, exploring the linear and tonal qualities achievable, influencing my decision to work in black and white. My work has always been a reflection of my life and immediate surroundings. I enjoy working with figurative/natural subject matter. I am motivated by my emotional response to my subject, often of people and pets in my life and nature in my garden/local environment. My background as a Sculptor drives my interest in the tonal qualities achievable through printmaking to describe the form of my subject. I am loving this new direction in my art practice and intend to widen my knowledge of and expertise in printmaking processes . Recently I have been drawn back to sculpture with a project based on my dog Nell.
I exhibit with Fife Dunfermline Printmakers, this year at Abbot House, Dunfermline 2-7 September and The Firestation Creative, Dunfermline in April 2027. My work is also permanently on exhibit at The Goldfinch Gallery Comrie.
