Kristine produces ceramics tempered with fire and smoke, resulting in unique patterns and colours. She works in two particular styles – Raku firing which produces bright colours and Pit firing which incorporates the use of organic materials and can produce very unexpected results. During the open studios she will be working with clay and visitors can see how the clay is used.
She also enjoys working with textile remnants, making individual pieces ‘made to be loved’. Inspired by making small fabric animals and other items for family/friends and using lavender grown in her garden to make fragrant sachets. Visitors can also try wooden block printing and print their own gift wrap.
