I am a photographer and textile artist. My passions come together in my multi-media art. My work is inspired by the natural world, the family farm, and tropical trips, with a desire to re-use materials wherever possible.

I am a photographer and textile artist. My passions come together in my multi-media art. My work is inspired by the natural world, the family farm, and tropical trips, with a desire to re-use materials wherever possible. I live on Errichel Farm, with the Thyme Deli and Bistro just next door.
After 30 years working in and around Africa, colour has become a very evocative part of my memory and art. Here in Scotland, seasons are the rhythm to my work and I am lucky enough to be surrounded by ever-changing light!
For my 16th birthday, my parents gave me a camera and for my 60th birthday I received a sewing machine. Now that I am retired from international public health work, I have brought the two together by embroidering my photographs. I also work with found scraps of material, weaving, and knitting.
In my ‘spare time’, I encourage people to garden and I run ‘wake up your creativity’ workshops for adults and children. I also support local organisations through volunteering, but I am never without my sketchbook and camera.
