Kristine finishes her ceramic pieces using alternative firing techniques, using Raku and pit firing. These techniques produce vibrant colours and also unique patterns on the clay surface.
“As a potter, I prioritize sustainability by foraging local plant materials and driftwood, minimising environmental impact and deepening my connection to place. My raku practice produces no hazardous waste—spare clay and materials are reused or repurposed, ensuring minimal landfill contribution. This low-impact, cyclical process respects both the land and the community.
I use natural materials to produce vessels for people to enjoy, but ultimately can return to the environment with no long term impact”.
Kristine also works with textile remnants to produce items “made to be loved”, inspired by making items for her own family.
Kristine is sharing her venue with three other artists, each has their own profile on the website:-
Ellie Fiddes a fibre artist who works with natural fabrics, printing and dyeing. Creating
unique clothing, pictures and wall hangings.
