Shona’s artwork is inspired by the natural environment, the effects of the ever changing seasons and light, plus its flora and fauna.
While she predominantly paints oil and watercolour landscapes in a traditional style, Shona is also creating a wildlife series of small semi abstract, mixed media pieces which incorporate the fascinating collage papers she produces by gelli printing.
Her vibrant textile art, created using free motion machine embroidery and recycled fabrics will also feature. Shona will be working on textile pieces during open studios and will be happy to demonstrate some of the techniques involved.
