At least 70 different creatives from across Perthshire will be taking part in the POS Summer Show at Birnam Arts.
Perthshire is very special – it has a great number of creatives living here. Perth and Kinross Council estimates that 3000 people are working in creative industries in Perthshire.
“A two-week exhibition at the very popular Birnam Arts will give people a chance to see just some of our members work from across Perthshire and in the wonderful rural setting of Birnam and Dunkeld – they can get a bus from Perth and have coffee in the café. There is even a Beatrix Potter exhibition the kids will enjoy”, explained POS Chair Heather Budge-Reid
If visitors to the POS Summer Show at Birnam Arts are thinking about using the all year-round Perthshire Creative Trail, they can visit the Hermitage (K in the brochure) for inspiration, visit Mridula Basi’s studios (12 in brochure) or see Kat ‘n’ Kat at work making jewellery and textiles (11 in brochure). See the POS website for Creative Trail details.
“We wanted to give our members a chance to show their creativity in a modern and professional gallery as well as drawing art lovers out to the gorgeous countryside”, says Angela Thomson, a member of the POS team who has been liaising with artists for the show.
There will be an Artisan& Best in Show Prize of £250 awarded by the artists and invitees to the private viewing.
