A rare opportunity to view the 500-year-old traditional craft of printing from hand-assembled metal and wood type in operation, now rated an endangered craft. The press has been operating for 60 years, producing mostly ephemera for charities and poetry booklets. Now helping pass on skills to artists and others using the extensive range of materials and machines in its workshop. Many pieces of the old industry’s equipment on display, including type-casting machines. Visitors including children can try their hand, and requests to give demonstrations or talks are welcome.
