Profile
At any time of year this stunning walk, through woodlands and waterfalls, has inspired many artists and poets, including the Scottish poet Robert Burns (whose statue sits at the end of the trail). The Upper Birks is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its importance for the diversity of plants and animals.
A moderately challenging circular walking trail, it takes 1–2 hours to complete. Suitable footwear advised. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead.
