I’m a Scottish artist who mainly paints landscapes. I’ve also worked for Oscar winning film designers, made huge mosaics and murals acted as the arts consultant for infrastructure projects. I spent 15 years working with my hero and mentor Alasdair Gray, notably on Òran Mór, the Hillhead mural and his proposed mural for the Scottish Parliament. I’m known for my series of murals telling the story of Tam o’Shanter. I’m currently building a 120m sculpture of a Beithir, a mythological Scottish lightning serpent in Glasgow. It will be made in steel and concrete with a mosaic covering. During the open studios I will be showing paintings, drawing, prints and working drawings from various projects.

Hello! I’m Cal aka HooperHart and I create wooden art, wearables and accessories for the home with a contemporary Folk Art flavour. I specialise in illustrative, immersive miniature scenes in the form of boxed and framed dioramas – all inspired by wildlife, storytelling, analogue animation, and the Scottish coast and countryside. You can find me tucked away down a picturesque single track road between the A9 and Dunning, surrounded by fields and farmland. When you see a wooden outhouse festooned with bunting, you’ll know you’re in the right place!

I specialise in Felted Art and Harris Tweed gifts and homewares, combining my passion for sewing and design with my love of all things wool. My felted pieces are inspired by the stunning Scottish landscapes and my garden. Each piece is unique, created with a combination of wet and needle felting techniques and embellished with hand and machine embroidery.

I’m a Kinross mixed media artist and express my creativity on a variety of mediums and surfaces such as glass, wood, clay, canvas and paper. As well as painting and drawing I also hand burn on wood. My little summerhouse studio is situated in my lovely tranquil garden near Loch Leven. I love animals and nature and often use local flora and fauna as inspirations for my designs. I will have a wide selection of glassware, hand burned wooden boards, ceramics, gifts, cards, prints and original artwork on display in my summerhouse studio and garden gazebo. I’m looking forward to welcoming visitors and love a wee chat about my artwork.

Ricart: painting and prints, mostly landscapes some are based on inspirational places I have visited, in particular the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, others are based on my dreams and imagination. I also have a range of greeting cards for sale. I work out of a small studio/garden shed and dream of somewhere bigger! However a very warm welcome is assured. I usually use a mixture of acrylics and oil pastels and enjoy the challenge of getting them to work together, creating happy accidents.

I am a artist/printmaker working mainly with Linocut relief prints. The main inspiration for my work is the beautiful countryside, the diverse flora and fauna of the Devon valley where we live. I work out of my studio, a converted cow barn, on a small farm near Rumbling Bridge where I am lucky enough to have my own printing press, which I will be demonstrating throughout the festival

I’m excited to be opening my home studio in Abernethy for the first time. I’m a willow weaver who hand weaves willow baskets, sculptures, bird houses and bird feeders. I love experimenting with different colours of willow and a range of weaves to add texture and interest to my designs. I’m a firm believer that the functional should be beautiful too. At my studio, you’ll be able to see the tools of the trade, and learn more about the sustainability of willow and its preparation for weaving. I’ll be demonstrating willow basketry and sculpting techniques too, so pop by to chat about all things willow. While you’re here, you can take the chance to look around the beautiful village of Abernethy and its surrounding countryside which inspires my designs.
