I did a foundation year at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, then went on to study Glass Design and Stained Glass at Edinburgh College of Art. After graduating, I worked for Caithness Glass in Perth, designing and copper wheel engraving crystal.
I now farm in Strathmore and paint local landscapes and seascapes from the West Coast, I also paint flowers and Koi! I enjoy oil impasto, acrylics and mixed media, depending on the subject matter. Texture and layering are paramount.
I recently painted a life size replica of a sheep for this year’s Highland Show, celebrating the Golden Shears competition. ‘Strathmore Summer’ travelled through Scotland for the weeks before the show and will be auctioned in September for charity.
My paintings are displayed in a shed on the farm.
