Registration of POS 2021 has now closed and 143 venues with around 200 Artists are getting ready for the Big Event! Some members have still to complete their profiles and we would urge you to do that ASAP so that we can include all of your details in the Gallery on our new Mobile friendly website, to be launched shortly!
Recent Art and Craft events in the Perthshire area are reporting plenty of interested visitors and we look forward to the same for POS in September, especially with more people vacationing within the UK this year. There is a sense of optimism in spite of the all the difficulties we are facing with this pandemic and it was most heartening recently to have this message from Helen Smout, Chief Executive of Culture Perth and Kinross ‘I wish you all the very best with the event and am looking forward very much to seeing the fantastic talent we have in this region once again.’
Many aspects of POS that are familiar to our members and visitors will be included in the Event this year: The Showcase Exhibition at The Bield, for example, and the banners, bunting and direction signs. But there are new happenings too! We will have a second Showcase at Birnam Arts in Dunkeld and Strathearn Arts at Crieff will be the venue for a group of artists drawn from across the area as well as an exhibition of local POS artists. There are a number of artists who have been with us before and also some for whom this is their first POS Event. Perhaps the most noticeable change is the move from a printed brochure to a fold out leaflet which summarises the information and points to more details about the venues and their locations on our dynamic new website. The leaflet will definitely be easier than a brochure to put in a pocket or small handbag! For members, there’s a ‘marketing toolkit’ and for visitors, some of our artists including video clips in their profiles.
Our volunteer Committee members and our contracted partners are extremely busy right now putting finishing touches to all the tasks involved in planning and putting together this gem of an event. I’d like to thank them all for their commitment and sheer hard work. Like you and them, I can’t wait to see it all come together in September. We’ll keep you updated!
