Lesley Bruce has won Best in Show at the POS Summer Exhibition at Birnam Arts. “I love making my art from scraps of glass and ceramics. The possibilities are endless, from indoor and outdoor pieces which catch the light and make you smile” Lesley said.
Although the Jellyfish glass art sold at the exhibition, Lesley Bruce is one of the 120 artists taking part in the Perthshire Open Studios Festival in September. “I will be exhibiting with family in Blairgowrie so come and see me, some spectacular views and enjoy a wee cuppa.”
There are 10 glass artists’ studios open during the Open Studios Festival, and two are on the year-round Perthshire Creative Trail. “While many of Perthshire’s glass factories have closed, we can see that glass is still a fundamental part of Perthshire culture – it was even the subject of the redesigned Perth Art Gallery’s first temporary exhibition! Most of the 15 galleries on the all-year-round Perthshire Creative Trail sell glass art, from beautiful jewel-like smaller pieces to hang in windows or wear, to larger 3D pieces to decorate your home.” said Heather Budge-Reid, Chair of Perthshire Open Studios.
