Nichol Wheatley is a Scottish artist. He paints, makes large murals huge sculptures and occasionally works on feature films.
He’s known for Bella the Beithir, a huge sculpture that he is making (with others) in Northwest Glasgow at Stockingfield bridge. He’s also known for the Tam o’Shanter cycle of paintings in the bar at Òran Mór, and his long collaboration with his hero and mentor Alasdair Gray between 2005 and 2019. Most notably on the auditorium at Òran Mór, on the Western Baths mural and the Hillhead Mural. He occasionally works on feature films such as Outlaw King and Trainspotting 2.
He can be found in his studio in Kinross, working on various projects, or in the bar at Òran Mór.
