Open Studio Showcase

Each year we recommend all artists participating in the Open Studios also participate in the exhibition we hold to support the open studio event. This year the exhibition will be open from Saturday 30 August to Sunday 14 September, from 10am until 5pm.

The exhibition is held each year at The Barn Gallery, The Bield. The Barn Gallery is set in magnificent grounds which are usually open for visitors to enjoy when visiting the exhibition. Worthy of a special mention is the walled garden, where as long as there isn’t a workshop or private event being held, visitors can enjoy the opportunity to wander around. 

The showcase offers visitors the chance to see examples of lots of artists work all under one roof. Visitors tell us that a visit to the showcase helps them to decide which artists they will visit and usually adds some extra artists to their predetermined list. Last year there were 50 plus artists at the Bield. The Barn Gallery at the Bield is a large, bright and uplifting gallery to visit and is always beautifully curated by the Barn Gallery staff.

The exhibition is manned by artists, including a number of artists in residence at the Barn Gallery. The artists in residence this year are still to be confirmed, but we’ll update this page  as soon as we know. This means you can discuss with them their work and process to achieving the final piece
