On the Creative Trail you will find 15 galleries and 32 artist studios, 17 of which are in the Perth Creative Exchange. It does not matter what time of year it is – you can meet artists, visit galleries, and find walks, distilleries, and even coffee and cake!
Perthshire is special: of course there are the big trees and big views that it is famous for, but we also have a large creative and vibrant community. Wherever you choose to go, you can meet the makers and see the inspiration.
The Trail is made possible with the support of Perth and Kinross Council, UNESCO City of Craft (Perth), VisitScotland, Perth Creative Exchange, Growbiz, Perthshire Artisans, and the team at The Quair and is organised by Perthshire Open Studios.
Getting Started
Getting started is easy: browse the listings, find places you want to go and start your journey.

Step 1:
Browse the places you want to visit
The map has all the creatives and inspiration locations included, and clicking on the map marker or listing image will show more information about them.
Some locations have several artists, so zoom in to see them separately.

Step 2:
Add To Favourites & plan your route
To add Favourites, first create an account: CREATE ACCOUNT
You can then save locations by clicking on the HEART symbol on the listings. You can view your saved places via the 'Saved places' menu options and print if required.

Step 3 :
Start your journey
The listings have links to What3Words to get directions via Google Maps and others.
Some listings are only open on certain days or ‘by appointment’, so we recommend contacting your planned visits before departing.
Zoom the map in and out using the +/- buttons, or click on the numbered groups to see them separately. Click and drag to move the map, or drag with two fingers.
Filter the map by creative activity by unchecking Categories in the bottom-right corner to hide those places. Enter a name in the search box to find a particular artist or inspiration.
Hover over an icon to see the name, click on the icon for a popup summary, and click on the image or 'more info' button in the popup for a detailed page with full opening hours, etc.
If you are using a mobile device (phone / tablet) to access the website, remember to press 'Enter' on the on-screen keyboard to search (or 'Return / Search / Go'). In order to see the pins on the map behind the search box, expand the map by tapping the icon or use the down arrow at the top-right of the search box to shrink it.
Why not download a digital copy of our brochure?
The pdf version is a great download to have while out and about in Perthshire where the mobile phone signal may not always be great.
You can also pick up a printed version from our creatives themselves, at the Creative Exchange in Perth, or from tourist information offices.
