About Us

Perthshire Open Studios (POS) has been supporting creatives across Perthshire for almost two decades, organising a nine day open studio event the first week in  September each year alongside a showcase exhibition open to all artists taking part in the open studios.

In 2022, following changes in the management team it was decided to consult with the members to consider what if any changes should be introduced going forward. The consultation resulted in the decision to introduce other events to better support creatives throughout the year. In 2023, this saw the introduction of two new activities, the Perthshire Creative Trail and the POS Summer Show.

To take part in any of our activities you must be a member.

Getting to know the Team

POS is a Community Interest Company intended to support the creatives living in Perthshire. There needs to be a minimum of 2 directors. The Board of Directors currently consists of: Angela Thomson and Louise Ormerod.

Angela Thomson

Owner of Artisanand gallery in Aberfeldy since its creation in 2014, after a career in management consultancy and finance across the UK, the Far and Middle East.
Angela curates the exhibitions, constantly seeking new artists for her contemporary gallery which has become known for its quirky conceptual pieces in many media. She features established and emerging artists, mainly local, although anyone who fits the ethos is welcome. She also runs a framing service from the gallery.
Aware of the challenges facing artists, particularly emerging talent, she works with artists offering advice on opportunities beyond the gallery, sales channels, pricing, digital selling, advertising, etc.

Louise Ormerod

After a career in sales & marketing lasting over 20 years in November 2022, with my husband Ross, I established Craigrossie Printing. Craigrossie Printing specialises in providing a high quality personal service to small businesses and individuals for small scale projects printed at a reasonable cost. We work with artists to achieve the best representations of their work, matching colours, cleaning images, etc.
My involvement with Perthshire Open Studios marries up my skills and desire to see artists thrive in a constantly challenging environment.
I am also Sales Manager for Perthshire Local.

Management Team - Member Artists

In January 2024, we had a very positive meeting with POS members who volunteered at the AGM to help with our activities this year. At the meeting we established a management team of member artists who are willing to represent the views of the wider membership of POS.

Along side this there will also be a working group of artists who have volunteered to help with any tasks identified that need to be performed in relation to the activities in 2024. If you are willing to help us achieve the goals we’ve set for 2024 please let Louise or Angela know and we’ll add you to the list. Many hands make light work, trite but true!

The list of the artists who’ve agreed to represent the membership on the management team for 2024 is as follows; Adam Stone, Jacquie Clark, Ceri White, Louise McLaren, Lynn Shlip, Lorna Radbourne, Cal Scott, Suzanne Clements, who will join Louise and Angela in making decisions going forward.

There are a couple of others that we’re waiting on confirmation from and we’ll add them once we’ve received their confirmation.
